44 Drafts in the Chamber
Everyone has unfinished business. What are you going to do about it?
Here we are, the calendar new year, and I’m faced with a decision about my plan for the year ahead. For me, this time of year serves as a mid-year reflection on the goals I set six months ago. It’s a moment to check in on my progress, reassess priorities, and decide how (or if) I’ll accomplish everything in the next six months.
It’s a reflection. A pause.
As I reflect, I’m confronted by the reality: I have 44 drafts waiting.
The Power of the Drafts
These drafts are more than words on a screen — they represent ideas, insights, and inspiration from previous experiences. Six months ago, I was preparing to give birth to my second child. Another home birth. This time, though, I found myself preparing for a free birth, which is legal in my state. On top of all of that, I was processing a breakup and healing from a toxic relationship.
In reviewing the drafts, I see the evolution of my thoughts and how they once aligned with my goals. It’s mind-boggling to realize that these drafts almost amount to an entire year’s worth of weekly content. And you know what? I’m proud of myself.
I’ve prepared a chamber full of potential — ideas waiting to be refined, shared, and expanded…
